Charlie Brooker is My Jesus


I feel very compelled to share this brilliant piece by Charlie Brooker. Charlie nails the masochistic bent and sheer emotional pandering of shows like X Factor (and American Idol). Applies to pretty much all reality shows, which exploit freaks to make us feel better about our own lives. This is not to mention the fact that these shows signal the death of art itself, but perhaps I’ll rant about that some other time.
